A Deep Dive into Laser Skin Resurfacing

In the pursuit of flawless and rejuvenated skin, advancements in cosmetic procedures have paved the way for transformative laser treatments. Among these, laser skin resurfacing has gained popularity as a powerful technique to address a range of skin concerns.

Understanding Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated beams of light to remove damaged skin cells, stimulate collagen production, and reveal a smoother, more youthful complexion. This treatment is highly versatile and capable of addressing various skin imperfections by precisely targeting specific layers of the skin.

Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

At the Cambridge Laser Clinic our highly trained medical professionals use fractional lasers for skin resurfacing treatments as only part of the skin is exposed, allowing uninjured skin around the area to act as a barrier and thus promoting rapid healing. We use both the Er Yag 2940nm and CO2 10,600nm ablative lasers to ensure optimal results.

Our Lasers

The Er Yag 2940nm Laser

is the preferred option for skin resurfacing, addressing both superficial and medium-depth concerns. With the capability to penetrate the skin to depths ranging from 200 to 300 micrometers (0.20-0.3mm), this advanced laser allows for a swift return to regular activities within 7 days. It is highly recommended for individuals with darker skin types, thanks to its outstanding safety profile

The CO2 10,600nm Laser

is the recommended choice for deep skin resurfacing, catering to both medium-depth and deep concerns. This advanced laser can penetrate the skin at depths ranging from 750 to 1000 micrometers (0.75-1.0mm). Expect a downtime period of 10 days. It is the preferred laser for individuals with lighter skin types who have more pronounced imperfections

Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing

Improved Skin Texture: Laser resurfacing promotes the growth of new, healthy skin cells, resulting in a smoother and more even skin texture.
Reduced Wrinkles and Fine Lines: The stimulation of collagen production helps to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, restoring a youthful look.
Sun Damage Correction: Laser treatments can effectively address sun spots, pigmentation issues, and sun damage, revealing a clearer and more radiant complexion.
Scar Reduction: Whether caused by acne, surgery, or injury, laser resurfacing can minimize the appearance of scars, promoting a more uniform skin tone.
Tightened Skin: The collagen boost provided by laser treatments contributes to firmer and tighter skin, reducing sagging and improving overall elasticity.

Who is Laser Skin Resurfacing Right For?

Laser skin resurfacing suits individuals looking to rejuvenate their skin and address specific concerns. It is a viable option for all skin tones, as the different laser target pigmentation.
